What are the admission requirements for UNISA?

Each qualification has specific requirements, so it’s important to check the details for your chosen course.

Can I apply for more than one qualification?

How do I check the status of my application?

You can track your application status on the UNISA website. Log in with your student number and password to see updates.

What happens after I apply?

UNISA will assess your application based on your academic qualifications and the availability of space in your chosen program.

If you’re accepted, you’ll receive an offer which you must accept within the specified time.

What if my application is unsuccessful?

If your application is not successful, UNISA will inform you of the outcome.

You can explore other study options or consider applying for a different qualification in the next application period.

Do I need to complete any additional courses before registering?

First-time applicants to UNISA must complete the First-Year Experience Massive Open Online Course (FYE MOOC).

You won’t be able to accept UNISA’s offer if you haven’t completed this free online course.

Are there any special requirements for international students?

You can apply for admission without a SAQA certificate, but you’ll need to submit it by 15 December 2025 if your application is accepted.
